Discovering a YouTube documentary about a Korean child named Wonki Hong has first sparked my interest in Progeria (Hutchinson-Gilford Syndrome). Progeria is a rare genetic disorder that accelerates aging by about seven times, leading to severe health problems and often premature death in adolescence.

This editorial delves into progeria through impactful case studies, highlighting its biological details and symptoms. With only around 80 children affected worldwide, notable cases include Sam Bern, whose parents founded The Progeria Research Foundation, and Wonki Hong, the only child with progeria in South Korea, who actively raises awareness and advocates for a cure.

PROJECT GOAL

Create an informative experience

Motivated by my deep interest in global social issues that often go unnoticed, my project, "Progeria: Around the World," presents an exciting challenge and responsibility. It aims to design an engaging experience that effectively communicates accurate information and messages to readers, adding a meaningful contribution to the awareness of progeria.
